Heya folks, it’s time for another monthly newsletter! Don’t mind that it’s 2 days away from April and I almost missed this month. I didn’t miss it though, because you’re reading it right now!
Flipside
A while back I was working on a game that was inspired by Power Rangers and Sailor Moon called Flipside. The main gimmick was that the character sheet was double sided; one side for your hero side, and one side for your social side. That original game grew bigger than I could handle, and I discovered some other games that had similar mechanics to what I was already writing, so I put the project aside to work on other things. Lately I got the urge to look back at that and see what I could salvage. A friend I asked about it said that I should focus the mechanics and make a smaller zine-like game. So that is exactly what I did! Now the small, more focused, more punchy version of Flipside has finished its 1st (technically 2nd) draft! It is fully ready to be playtested and I am inviting you to playtest it yourself! The main gimmick is the same and I think it’s a neat little project with a lot of room for growth! Do I want to deepen the main mechanics? Do I want to make it more tactical, or stay lite and punchy? Do I want to add genuine classes or skills? That’s what the playtesting is for, to answer these questions.

Project Anam Chara Progress Report
Me and my together partner have been hard at work crafting a neat and interesting game, and we have begun work on the first draft. So far the details of character and world creation have been written out and expanded on while we prepare to draft the main gameplay loop. The feedback we’ve gotten from some friends and beta readers has been pretty positive so I think it’s shaping up pretty nicely.
That’s All Folks!
Sorry this was a short update, but I have been heavily focused on these few things, so I hope they interest you! I’m still working on online shop stuff, but I don’t want to do it wrong so I am taking my time with it. I don’t even know how to ship things yet! So I want to figure that out before I open a shop (Which is the whole point of this jam, so check that out). Thank you for reading, and I wish you all pleasant sleep and dry socks!
