Hello folks, and welcome back to another Milkboy Monthly! (Gotta love some alliteration)
I’m so sorry friends, but I honestly don’t have much to update you on this month. I recently had a cat pass away, along with some financial struggles, as well as an extra work shift per week, so I have kinda slowed down this month. However, I still have some things up and coming that I am willing to talk about. For you, dear followers.

Hero’s Peak: Villain Prevention Squad

Those of you have been following me for a long time (and I mean a LONG time, like pre-TTRPG times) know about a comic script I have been writing for a while. Originally it was called USHD: Underwhelming Super Hero Division. That eventually turned into USHD: Underwhelming Super Hero Delinquents. Then finally to Hero’s Peak: Underwhelming Super Hero Delinquents.
Over the years, while writing USHD, I started creating a whole world rather than just a single story. There’s lore, history, and so so many characters. I always said that if USHD ever got released and became popular that I’d run a TTRPG campaign that takes place in the same world and effects the story of USHD. Well that didn’t quite go as planned. I got a very overwhelming job that exploited me, overworked me, and burned me out bad. I have not been the same since then. All the ideas I had for USHD completely left me, and I couldn’t write anything anymore.
Eventually I came back to it, but I couldn’t inject the same passion I had into it as I did before. I decided to upload the chapters I finished online and step away from the series for a bit. However, TTRPGs had pulled me out of burnout. I’d never regain the creativity I had before, but I got a lot back. I was doing a lot of APs at the time, and I was missing my silly little superhero world. After a very fun AP of Masks (Which you can find here: https://youtu.be/JV7febK2QIs?si=UVey18TBUsz3DtiQ . I highly recommend it. It’s so good.) I decided that I wanted to run a superhero AP of my own. It was a great opportunity to return to that superhero world that I was now calling Hero’s Peak.
This is where Villain Prevention Squad was born! An upcoming Masks AP podcast run by yours truly! I plan on releasing Issue #0, a little proof of concept teaser, on March 2nd. This is a long time in the making (due to some unfortunate computer issues), so it would mean a lot to me if you gave it a try! You can find the Podcast page here: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/hero-s-peak-villain-prevention-squad--6892305 . It’s empty right now, but it won’t be for long!

Project: Anam Chara

I might as well share with y’all what me and my team are working on for my Together TTRPG Jam. A little treat since I am low on updates. It’s only a low concept right now, but I thing so far we’re making something special!
I got the idea from the convoluted timeline of the Legend of Zelda series. As some of y’all might know, LoZ is one of, if not the most, the most important works of fiction to me. I very much wanted to make something inspired by it. I also have been into Wicked lately, and in the opening to the song “For Good” the lyrics are:

For Good from Wicked

I also learned about a Celtic concept called “Anam Chara” which roughly translates to “Soul Friend”. All of these combined gave me the idea to make a game where you play the same characters every session, but also every session you play in a completely different time. These can be hundreds of years apart, and all of your characters are the same, but you are different people. (Like how every Zelda game you play as Link, and you save Zelda, but they are different people in each game.) Your souls, and your destinies, always bring you together in every timeline. So every session is a different point in a timeline, but you always play the “same” character. I hope that makes sense! I am in the process of writing up a draft, so I can’t share anything mechanically, but I think it’s going to be very cool!
Speaking of the TTTRPG jam; go check it out if you haven’t! We’ve already got some submissions and they’re very cool! I also still have space in my team if my concept intrigues you and you’d like to join in on this project! you can find the Jam here: https://itch.io/jam/tttrpg-jam

That’s All Folks!

Sorry for such a measly update! But life, ya know? I hope you enjoyed the read and look forward to my projects!
P.S. if you want to find those original USHD scripts, you can read them for free here https://ko-fi.com/s/3c63cc2c61
